Known as America's Sweetheart, Little Mary and the girl with the curls, she was one of the first Canadian pioneers in early Hollywood and one of film's greatest legends.
Her influence in the development of film acting was tremendous.

Lost Girls

is an erotic graphic novel depicting the sexual adventures of three important female fictional characters: Alice Fairchild from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz and Wendy Darling from Peter Pan.
They meet as adults in 1913, and describe and share some of their erotic adventures with each other.
The story is written by Alan Moore, an English writer most famous for his influential work in comics, including the acclaimed graphic novels V for Vendetta and From Hell.
And drawn by Melinda Gebbie.
Lost Girls has been the source of massive controversy due to the nature of it's content.
I, personally, have the first editions in three parts.
That's how much I loved it.

The Art of Color

Johannes Itten was a teacher at the Bauhaus in the early twenties. He is known for is work on color theory.
Itten's approach to color theory was revolutionary because he looked at color not only in terms of the physics of how light is absorbed or reflected by matter, and not only in terms of how one color looks when situated beside another.
Itten also looked at how color affects a person psychology and spiritually.
He believed that there were certain characteristics inherent in particular colors that would have a direct influence on how the viewer felt.

Great book.

Remember Remember

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

Guy Fawkes Night, or more commonly known as bonfire night, is a tribute to Guy Fawkes, and to the night he tried to blow up Parliment, the 5th of November 1605.
But more importantly, it's the day of my brother's birthday.
So Happy Birthday hermano!

Poladroid

Sadly, there is nothing that comes close to replacing our beloved Polaroid.
But this little application is quite amusing!
Technically, it's not a Polaroid...
But it's better than nothing!

Have a go at turning your digital snapshots into Poladroids.

Julian Opie

is a leading contemporary English artist, and one of my personal favorites.
Opie's work consists in two dimensional computer imagery and minimalised detail.
His style was brought into the public eye when he was asked to design the cover of Blur's Best Of album.
I love his simplicity, how easy he makes it look.
A few lines here and a circle there.
His way of using the sheer basics of geometry to build up beautiful images.
Julian Opie is most definitely a great influence and truly, to me ,a great artist.

Three Cool Cats

We were in the country side this week end.
And upon our arrival, look at what we stumbled upon...
Three kittens!
Aren't they to die for!
(as you might have guessed, the little black and white one is my favorite.)
What more to ask for than a nice warm fire to sit in front of with the ones you love and baby kittens!

Hope your week end was as nice as mine.
